Launch of New Digital Case Tracking System

The Court of Appeal for Ontario, in partnership with the Ministry of the Attorney General, has launched a new digital case tracking system for entering and tracking case data and providing improved document management.

The first stage of the project, launched last week, makes operational changes affecting the way court staff enter and process data and documents. Future phases of the project will implement a new public facing e-filing and payment portal, improving customer service and access.

The new case tracking system is powered by Thomson Reuters C-Track court management software, which has been configured to meet the Court’s unique operational needs. This software was procured by the Court of Appeal and the Ministry of the Attorney General through a competitive procurement process.

As a result of the recent launch, court users may notice some small changes, such as a new case numbering system and changes to the style and formatting of some documents and correspondence. We are not anticipating any disruptions, but in the initial weeks of the implementation, there may be some small delays resulting from the transition.
