The Court of Appeal is excited to announce the next phase of its modernization. On April 9, 2026, the Court, in partnership with the Ministry of the Attorney General, will launch the Ontario Court of Appeal Public Portal. The portal is a new online public portal for parties and legal representatives in a case to:
Once the new portal is launched the Court will no longer accept court filings by email. Instead, parties will be required to file electronic materials through the portal, unless the Court directs otherwise.
The portal can also be used by any member of the public to view information about most civil cases. For the time being, this feature will not be available for criminal or family law cases. Members of the public will be able to use this feature to see which motion and appeal documents have been filed in a case; and find scheduled hearing dates.
