This Notice should be read in conjunction with the Notice to the Family Law Bar and Family Litigants – Barrie dated January 17, 2022, (“the Notice”).
As set out in the Notice, the Early Triage Conference (ETC) initiative at the Barrie family court was temporary and dependent upon the availability of and/or changes to court facilities, operations, and judicial resources. After consultation with Court Services, the Bar, the Judiciary and the RSJ, it has been determined that the ETC initiative is no longer viable.
This Notice terminates the Early Triage Conference initiative.
Any ETC’s scheduled before this notice comes into effect shall continue to take place as scheduled.
The Barrie family court will continue to explore other options and initiatives to alleviate delays in obtaining regular case conference dates and provide parties with early judicial intervention and procedural direction.
