Standard Document Naming Protocol
All counsel and litigants are reminded that all documents filed with the Court must comply with the naming convention as described below:
- Document type
- Party submitting the document
- Name of the party submitting the document (including initials if the name is not unique to the case), and
- Date on which the document was created or signed, in the format DD-MM-YYYY
In Civil:
- Expert Report – Defendant – Loblaws – 13-MAR-2021
- Financial Statement Form 1 – Respondent – A. Wong – 21-NOV-2021
In Family:
- Financial Statement Form 13.1 – Respondent – A. Wong – 21-NOV-2021

In Criminal:

Furthermore, counsel are reminded that documents uploaded to Case Center must comply with the above naming convention. Document titles should include spaces between words to ensure the document name is fully visible when viewing in Case Center.

Case Event Bundle Invitation
It is the responsibility of counsel listed on file to invite other legal professionals on their team to their cases on Case Center and to each subsequent bundle for new events.
If you are counsel to a matter, please invite your administrative staff who is responsible for uploading your client’s material to the event bundle in Case Center.

Orders and Endorsements
Unless otherwise directed by the Court, Court Services will release orders and endorsements by uploading them to the “Orders and Endorsements” bundle of the Case Center case.
Orders and endorsements will be accessible in Case Center following the appearance and upon their release in the Orders and Endorsements bundle.
Changes in Representation
Where there is a change in counsel, it is the responsibility of counsel to promptly file the appropriate notice, being a Notice of Change in Representation (Family) or a Notice of Change of Lawyer (Civil), as applicable.
Counsel who are newly retained on a file are required to take carriage of the matter as of the date of retainer. This includes obtaining all relevant materials from the client and ensuring that any outstanding or missing pleadings and materials required for an upcoming appearance are uploaded to Case Center on behalf of their client.
