Complaints

The Review Council’s main responsibility is to consider complaints about the conduct of justices of the peace of the Ontario Court of Justice. The purpose of the complaints process is to preserve public confidence in the administration of justice.

Standards of Conduct

The Associate Chief Justice Co-ordinator of Justices of the Peace establishes standards of conduct for justices of the peace of the Ontario Court of Justice. The Review Council reviews and approves those standards of conduct.

Annual Reports

Each year, the Justices of the Peace Review Council publishes an annual report. The annual reports provide information on the Review Council’s membership, its functions, policies, procedures, and work during the reporting year.

Education

The Associate Chief Justice Co-ordinator of Justices of the Peace establishes an education plan for justices of the peace of the Ontario Court of Justice. The Review Council reviews and approves this plan.
