Justices of the Peace Review Council

Policy on Extra-Remunerative Work

The Review Council considers applications by justices of the peace to engage in extra-remunerative work. Extra-remunerative work includes any activity outside of judicial duties for which the justice of the peace receives pay. For example, some justices of the peace teach at universities or colleges.

The Review Council has a policy for considering these applications. Any justice of the peace seeking approval to engage in extra-remunerative work should review the policy and must fill out the application form.

Summaries of the applications for extra-remunerative work considered by the Review Council are included in the Review Council’s Annual Reports.
