This matter is scheduled for an appearance on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, by Zoom before Madam Justice Molloy. This case was adjourned to the January 11, 2022 appearance date in order to receive an update regarding the pending decision of the Supreme Court of Canada in R. v. Bissonnette. R. v. Bissonnette is now scheduled to be heard in the Supreme Court on March 24, 2022. As such, on January 11, 2022, the sentencing in the Minassian case will be adjourned to April 5,2022, so that an update on the progress of the Bissonnette appeal can be provided.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, and because the January 11, 2022 appearance is for the sole purpose of adjourning the matter to April 5, 2022, Madam Justice Molloy has directed that there will be no Zoom attendance by members of the media, the public, or the victims and their families.
