Ontario Court of Appeal Public Portal<\/h3>\n

Today, the Court of Appeal, in partnership with the Ministry of the Attorney General, has launched the Ontario Court of Appeal Public Portal: courtofappeal.ontario.ca<\/a><\/p>\n

Unless the Court directs otherwise, parties must file electronic materials through the portal<\/strong>. The Court\u2019s previous email address for filing electronic materials is no longer active and parties cannot use it to submit material to the Court.<\/p>\n

The portal can also be used by the public and media to search and view information, including accessing Zoom webinar hearing links. For the time being, this feature is available for civil cases filed on or after August 22, 2022. \u00a0It is not yet available for criminal or family law cases.<\/p>\n

The Court\u2019s practice directions <\/em>have been amended accordingly.<\/p>\n

Join the\u00a0portal mailing list<\/a>\u00a0to be notified by email of upcoming training sessions and further announcements.<\/p>\n

A Call for Papers \u2013 The Bertha Wilson Symposium<\/a><\/h3>\n

The Court of Appeal for Ontario is marking\u00a0the 50th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of the appointment of Bertha Wilson to the Court, effective January 2, 1976. On March 27, 2026, the court, together with the Law Society of Ontario, will host a symposium to honour her. It will take place in the Law Society\u2019s Lamont Learning Centre. Registration for this exciting event will open on February 3 through the Law Society.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, we are calling for law students to participate by submitting papers that highlight Bertha Wilson\u2019s legacy in the law. One paper will be selected to be showcased at the Symposium.<\/p>\n
