Practice Direction: E-Filing Pilot Project – 47 Sheppard Avenue East, Toronto

Please be advised that as of June 3, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice at 47 Sheppard Avenue East, Toronto, Ontario, counsel and parties may file their case conference and settlement conference briefs in domestic matters by email at 47sheppardOCJbriefs@ontario.ca

Briefs and any attachments are not to exceed 10 pages in 12 point font, 1.5 spaced, in PDF format and must be accompanied by a sworn or affirmed affidavit of service in PDF format. Any consent to late file can also be filed in PDF format. The original affidavit of service must be brought to court on the hearing date.

The covering email must include the court file number, name of the case and date and time of conference. A reply email will be sent confirming that the document has been received and has been accepted or stating the reason for non-acceptance.

No other documents or correspondence will be accepted through the above email address.  All filings must comply with the timelines in the Family law Rules.

Domestic matters include proceedings under the Children’s Law Reform Act, Family Law Act, Family Responsibility and Support Arrears Enforcement Act, 1996, and the Interjurisdictional Support Orders Act, 2002.

This pilot project shall be in force for 1 year, subject to further evaluation, and will terminate on June 2, 2020, unless terminated prior to that date or extended beyond that date by a subsequent notice.
