Brief Biographical Note of Justice C. William Hourigan

Former Chair of the Litigation Department at Fasken Martineau, Justice Hourigan has a distinguished career in law and public service. He served as the Chief of Staff to the Attorney General for Ontario and as Counsel and Director of Issues Management for the Premier of Ontario. In private practice, Justice Hourigan specialized in commercial ligation, with an emphasis on corporate governance disputes, securities litigation, and class actions. He was appointed to the Ontario Superior Court in 2009 and was chambered in Milton, Ontario. While on the Superior Court, Justice Hourigan served on the coa-parkedrd of Directors of the Ontario Superior Court Judges' Association. In October of 2013, he was elevated to the Court of Appeal for Ontario. He was appointed as the Chief Justice's representative on the Civil Rules Committee in 2015. Justice Hourigan is a graduate of McGill University and Osgoode Hall Law School.
